Celebrations
Briella loved celebrations. She went all out. For her it was another way to show others that they were special and loved. We have had many celebrations without Briella, and it just doesn’t feel right. None of us can compare to what Briella did. She is missed. October is full of birthdays for our family. The birthday banner went up, presents and cards were bought and given, and birthday cakes made; yet all the while we were missing Briella’s special touch. Everyone in the family has now had a birthday without Briella and it is just not the same.
As much as Briella loved celebrations here on earth, I’m thinking she is enjoying much bigger celebrations in heaven. I can’t wait to get there and celebrate with her. The Bible tells us, “I tell you that in the same way there will be rejoicing in Heaven over one repentant sinner--more rejoicing than over ninety-nine blameless persons who have no need of repentance.” Luke 15:7. Briella imagined what it would be like to help 5 people who need it come to know Jesus. For each one of those 5 (I think it is much more than 5) there was much rejoicing in heaven. I can only imagine the grand party and Briella is taking part in the party planning in heaven.
Every time we hear of how Briella’s Story has touched and changed lives…we stand amazed. Briella, just an ordinary 12-year-old girl, used in such amazing ways. Briella, your heart for God and others is still changing lives. Let’s keep the celebration going in heaven.
