TEAM JACK GALA 2025

We had the most amazing time attending the Team Jack Gala 2025. Briella was remembered and sponsored by our neighbors, Joe and MacKenzie Mowery. They have been involved with Team Jack for many years and sponsored Briella this year and last year. Last year we had planned on going and at the last minute were not able to make it. I had no clue what to expect from the evening. There were many emotions. We meet so many who have walked the same road and continue to give back. We also meet some that are currently fighting. Most in attendance were not in these categories. The ballroom was filled with around 700 people. People who collectively gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to support childhood brain cancer research. These people gave in abundance. Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s research investments are spent on childhood cancer. That means most all research is privately funded. Team Jack has lead the way with many advancements in treatment and care and research. The keynote speaker of the evening was Kirk Cousins. We were able to meet him and briefly talk with him. He was very inspirational. We were able to share about Briella with him. We also heard a spotlight child’s story. This brought back many of the emotions of Briella’s diagnosis and journey. So many kids have suffered and that shouldn’t be the case. Treatment for childhood brain cancer needs to change and Team Jack is helping with that.
